They were all over my ass about toppings again. I ordered what i wanted and said "an original medium with 3 toppings" i took a breath and before i could speak again the girl said "ummm... what toppings?" Give me a break... it was pause and as you can see i was looking at the toppings bar. A little patience would be nice, considering how empty it is in there.
Sorry... you lost a star...

SOGREEN AND SOTART.
I came here for the first time thinking it resembled a yogart place I really enjoy in the pacific north west called Ce Fiore. The atmosphere, the virtual menus, the layout of the business. It was inviting. I went ahead and tried the Strawberry Yogart with walnuts. I wish I had added an extra something to the mix like chocolate but I didnt feel like spending $5-6 bucks on a cup of yogart. Don't get me wrong, the portions are proportionate but the taste was a bit TART for my palate. I made this weird face after the first bite but continued eating on.
If they add Acai Berry yogart then maybe I'll consider coming back. In the meantime there are other places to have good frozen yogart.

Very Asian friendly. I feel like meditating. Simple decor. Modern furniture. Makes you want to redecorate your own place and become a Zen monk.
What I ordered:
small (it's actually pretty big) green tea yogurt with lychees.
The yogurt is so good; it melts in your mouth. Green tea yogurt tasted like ice cream, but doesn't have the same fat content.
SoGreen is made out of PEOPLE! We've got to stop them somehow!
Oh wait a minute, that's SOYLENT green. Oops...
I just went here for the first time and loved it. Yes it's yet another PinkBerry knockoff, but it's a GOOD PinkBerry knockoff. Besides, if the PinkBerry people can't get their act to start opening up some stores in NorCal then what do they expect?
The clinchers here are the fruity yogurts, specifically the strawberry and pomegranate. Yes, pomegranate. They're just the right balance of sweet and tart. And as far as I know, they're not made out of people.
It's clean, tasty, and VERY refreshing. Try the basic with strawberries, coconut, and mango. Maybe kiwi.
Nuff said. It's so green, that the spoons are too!

Meh.
Why go here when Yogen Fruz and YoCup is down the street, and Tuttimelon is a fraction of the price?
And if you're not a fan of those, there is Icebee and Cafe Ambrosia nearby.

I tried SoGreen and thought it was ok. Ate here after lunch eating Muracci's Japanese Curry & Grill so that was nice & refreshing.
Ask for a sample & they will give u one. I tried the Original. Then I just picked a Small Green Tea w/ topping of Strawberry. I did see mochi & lychee toppings but I didn't get them.
Original:
S $2.95
M $3.95
L $5.75
Green Tea & Strawberry:
S $3.5
M $4.5
L $6.25
Topping: .75c each
Green tea small $3.5 + .75 = $4.25. Credit cards taken.
Tables & chairs available inside & outside.

There's more of a tartness to SoGreen's yogurt than there is to Swirl Culture's and the texture is less creamy, but it's still really good! I'm not sure which one is better, probably Swirl by a little bit, but it's great to have a frozen yogurt spot that you love, close to work and another close to home. Pricewise, Swirl Culture wins thanks to it's Yogurt Happy Hour, but regularly prices are a little high. SoGreen is reasonably priced for its area.
SoGreen Small Plain = $2.95 +1 topping = $3.70
Swirl Culture Happy Hour Small w/ 2 toppings = $2.50

froyo dude here.
I call myself "froyo-dude" for a while only because the sounds funny and I really not the type of the guy eating froyo as a desert right after Sushi, for crying out loud.
But, Dude, talking about shrinkage.
I was like..... "taking a cold shower" here.
Nice Super Clean place but I hate the "fluorescent light" kind of off-white interior lightning.
it'll be nice to have a dentist office like this.
it was hard to see the "fluorescent light" menu on the wall.
Drive my eyes crazy.
I felt like I need to get a green eyes to see the menu.
I don't know.
It didn't make me SoHorny for froyo here.
Be horny is a bad thing, isn't it?
I know that you gotto control your self, but, if your life is only learning how to control your self, I think your life is FXXXed-up.
But, How can we have sex without being horny?
Is anyone can answer this without bullshitting involving "god"?
GOD ISN'T ALWAYS WATCHING US, FXXXHEADS!
If so, TELL ME HOW Sarah P's daughter got pregnant?
Don't tell me she wasn't a horny stupid fxxxed up high school slut.
She is a HORNY STUPID FXXXED UP HIGH SCHOOL SLUT!
Tell me how to get "HARD-ON" without the feeling?
Isn't it feeling?
Don't we have to be "HORNY" 1st to get penis Hard?
Tell me God if you are REALLY watching me how to get "HARD-ON" without "be horny"?
Having sex without the horny-feeling is nothing but animal act.
I was expecting the SoGreen is get me a great ecstasy tasty froyo place.
I know it's healthy and super clean and all but....
gave me nothing but shrinkage.
I don't about the super clean room.
Be in the place like ....a 2010 "fluorescent light" kind of off-white interior lightning dentist office like place, FREAKED ME OUT.
I felt I became a mannequin for the place.
Make me SoHorny, SoGreen

I thought the place was a little too yuppie and a little expensive for yogurt, but if you're just looking for dessert, it does the trick. I got a plain small green tea yogurt and it was plenty enough for dessert, perhaps even too much. Still, the slightly bitter green tea taste was nice and afforded me the opportunity to enjoy it while I people watched and dodged the farmer's market chaos outside.
The place is pretty clean and the cashiers are friendly. I can't give them a perfect score because there was a point where all three cashiers/yogurt makers were in the back and customers were waiting in the front. Still, no one seemed angry and everyone seemed happy. They do pack the yogurt cups and shakes to the brim, so you get your money's worth. I watched one of the dessert makers slather on the toppings instead of just shaking off what could come loose and not giving the full serving of toppings.
Probably a good place to bring kids on the weekend (since the FiDi must be dead then)
I like SoGreen. On those random hot days in the FiDi it hits the spot for lunch. It quells my pinkberry cravings and I love the tart flavor of their yogurt. My favorite combo is the green tea yogurt with blackberries and lychee. mmmmmm.... I'm a bit put off by the nut toppings but to each their own I suppose... One star off for the exorbitant prices. If I'm paying 6 bucks for a medium yogurt, I should get more than 7 pieces of fruit. Not too much to ask right?
If you are looking for milky super sweet fro yo of our forefathers, this is not the place. If you like the tart, crisp clean-like fro yo with fruit and captain crunch as toppings, come here. Its fat-free. The original is the best I think. They have a different monthly flavor which keeps ya comin back for more. Personally, its the chocolate chip and waffle cone toppings that keep me coming back.
I am a fan of this place. The taste alone keeps me coming back... I agree... there must be something they put in it to keep me coming back... could it be liquid crack.... me love da So Green! I wish there was one in the Richmond somewhere... I like getting the plain old yogurt with mochi... love the mochi.... and noticed they give you a lot more topping when you order mochi. I have even frozen one and had it at a later time... granted... the consistency is a bit hard... but I loved every bit of it and it is good to know I can have one frozen as a backup when needed! :)
The place is clean, staff is nice, they take credit/atm cards, and I love it...
The one suggestion I have for them is going GREEN! The spoons they use... although "green" in color... are not "green".... nor are their cups.... they should look into getting taterware or something... I just feel bad for all the disposed of non biodegradable spoons out there....
Not a huge fro-yo fan, but I still try to find a good place for it in FiDi.
I tried a sample of their original (which is usually a good indication as to the rest of the froyo flavors)...it was delightfully tart enough and slightly sweet aftertaste. :)
I ended up taking a small strawberry...$3.50 for the small, which was actually a very generous portion.
They also have blueberry (which many people were ordering before me) and green tea. Along with the extra toppings of $0.75 a pop.
Enjoy!

Love this place...I go here at least twice a week!
A little on the pricey side for toppings though because they are stingy.
I'm not writing this review cause I just returned from there...in fact, I'm writing cause I wish I could but they're closed on Sundays. Curses! Why on this sunny day must you make us suffer. I love SoGreen. PLEASE open more shops so i don't have drive into SF.
Now, for my review...me thinks its prob the best fro-yo in town. Granted I haven't tried the others but of the ones I've tried (Jubilee, Red Mango, Yo Cup, and Pinkberry) I think this is prob the most well balanced in terms of true yogurt (with the bacterial good stuff), tartness, and sweetness. The toppings are good but that doesn't matter as much to me since I only get the mochi and a one fruit (usually strawberry or blueberries).
Now if they could only be more accessible...

I would call myself somewhat of a "yogurt connoisseur". This yogurt is perfect when you need something to cool you down on a hot day, however you can get that from anything icey... which is pretty much how they're yogurt is. They're yogurt tastes pretty good, however it was really hard and dense. very icey!
i love that its near work in the fi DI, however how often i will venture out to get some of this remains a question. not a huge selection of toppings, but enough to satisfy most. Not the best yogurt out there, but will fulfill my yogurt cravings on a hot SF day.
Delicious mid-afternoon refreshment on a hot summer Saturday before going on the Architecture Walking Tour that leaves from the Galleria Park Hotel next door. I had the plain tart with raspberries and blueberries. The yogurt melted quickly, but still tasted delicious.
I decided to leave the confines of my cubicle and check out the farmer's market at Crocker Galleria. Pretty decent farmer's market, by the way.
As I was looking at the produce, I ran into SoGreen. I had never had Pinkberry before or any of these new-fangled "tangy-sour" frozen yogurts. I've actually tried to avoid this new trend. I don't know why. Just to be "anti" I guess.
But standing in front of SoGreen, I thought to myself: I should stop being so old, so anti-technology and anti-anything new! I should start texting and Twittering and FaceBooking and eating cupcakes and downloading apps onto my non-existent iPhone. I should cut loose and get a cordless phone for our house and a microwave. And I should start this new, improved, embracing-the-future me by... consuming a Pinkberry imitation.
I ordered the strawberry with mochi balls. It was tangy and mochi-y. The serving itself was quite large for me, even though it was a small. I couldn't finish it all.
The service was friendly. The guy was going to give me a free sample, but I had already ordered my order. The interior is very futuristic. I felt like I was in the 20th century vision of what the 21st century would look like, if that makes any sense.
Overall: 3.5 stars
Oh and I started Twittering. I have the most boring Twitter ever. All my entries say "I am at work"...

The folks at SoGreen don't want to sell you yogurt, they want to sell you virginity. Designed as an prelapsarian oasis hidden from the frenetic and needless to say DIRTY world of the Financial District in which they are located, their antiseptic store -- Kartell chairs and white leather sofas and LCD monitor menus and trendy iconology -- is spotless, immaculate, and completely devoid of character. It has all the sex appeal of a lab. The watchwords here, kids, are CLEAN (both taste and environment) and PURITY. I don't have a problem with the pure -- I mean, this is why I only fuck my priest, dress in white sheets, and shower with Clorox -- so I'm down with being clean and free from sin, sexual, gastronomical or otherwise, but I think SoGreen takes things a little too far. The product photos, the literature, it's all taintless -- it's soteriology through...yogurt? A section of their website is devoted to a virtual laundry list of health benefits derived from yogurt consumption, from lowering cholesterol to protecting the colon to healing arthritis. Hmmm. I do wish they'd practice a little full disclosure and also state the corresponding list of DETRIMENTS*** derived from yogurt consumption, such as:
- Shrinks cocks
- Started the Crimean War
- Responsible for 95% of teenage pregnancies, just ask Bristol Palin
- Gives you the Herp
- Leads to colonialism
- Tourette's, motherfuckers!
- Racist by definition
- Cures nymphomania
Anyway, I noticed they had THREE globed security cameras in a 20x15 space, which seemed like overkill until I remembered the price of purity is persistent vigilance. THANK YOU GEORGE W. BUSH, YOU ASSHOLE. I was torn between the original and green tea, until the sweet cashier happily gave me a sample of the green tea. Now, I'm sure some folks think SoGreen's green tea yogurt tastes fresh and clean and pure, like eating a blonde baby which wasn't aborted -- 'cause that would be, like, MURDER -- merely cannibalized, but to me it was pretty rank: sour, slightly curdled, with a "matcha" flavor derived from what can only be shavings of chunky green safety chalk. So I ordered a small original with mochi ($3.70), which was much better, though nothing exemplary. As I finished my 5oz. cup of tart yogurt sparsely decorated with mochi balls (I think they only gave me nine total), I realized that purity may be tasty and less filling but it's fundamentally boring, and I was grateful for being slightly unwholesome, unworthy, and defiled. It's a blessing, believe me.
***This list is completely made up. Yogurt makes you healthy. Infertile and healthy.

I put up with SoGreen because it's right near my office and I _really_ like frozen yogurt. But the comparisons to shaved ice and the lack of flavor are right on target--their yogurt isn't anywhere near IceBee, and even Working Girl has better basic texture. They're generous with the yogurt but stingy on the fruit toppings--like another reviewer, I just don't order fruit anymore.
Today I also learned they "don't do half-and-half." Apparently you can get original and strawberry swirled together, because they're in the same machine, but not original and blueberry.
Me: "Why?"
SoGreen guy: "Because then you'll get too much."
Me: "Can't you just put less of each in?"
SoGreen guy: "Also, when the lines are long, it takes too much time."
*embarrassed pause as he realizes I'm the only person in line*
SoGreen guy: "It's just our policy. We don't do half-and-halfs."
I _suppose_ I could understand if the argument was that they wanted to preserve the flavor sanctity of their product. But they already offer strawberry & original together, so clearly that's not the issue.
It's a personal pet peeve of mine when people stick to The Rules (especially silly ones) for no good reason, so I had a hard time being civil with him. I think this is the last straw with SoGreen--they've never been impressive, and now they're obnoxious as well.

News flash -- Crystal meth? So 1990s. Cocaine? So yesterday. The kids of today are falling prey to a new drug of choice -- fro-yo, otherwise known as frozen yogurt. Signs of addiction include mid-day salivation and withdrawal anxiety. Is someone you know suffering from a fro-yo addiction? Call 1-800-FRO-YO-NO.
Hmmmm.... I didn't think it possible, but I think I've finally met a fro-yo I'm not freakishly fond of. If Icebee and yo Cup are tangy, I would say that SoGreen is tart. This ain't no TCBY people. I don't know about you, but I don't think I want to taste the probiotics. Now I don't know exaaaaactly what they taste like, but I'm pretty sure they taste like SoGreen's yogurt.
I ordered the medium green tea with three toppings at SoGreen and the total came to about $7. That's quite a hefty price for an afternoon snack, no?
If I were ever to wean myself off of frozen yogurt, I'd start going to SoGreen.

I now have a reason to frequent Crocker Galleria during the work week! SoGreen is my new favorite place for froyo downtown. I love the regular and green tea flavored frozen yogurt combined with mochi. I used to go to yocup in Rincon for my froyo fix, but I became an instant SoGreen fan after I discovered how much more bang for your buck you get here. With its trendy decor and ample seating space, this is my place of choice for catching up with the girls over a refreshing afternoon treat.
So my partner in crime and lunch buddy decided to try out SoGreen which turns out to so SoNOT. To me, it didn't have the right consistency of what fro yo is suppose to be and the flavor wasn't there at all. I ordered the green tea with lychee and thought the lychee had more of a flavor granted that it was real fruit than the green tea. I don't know how else to describe what I tasted but I've had better that's for sure. I say skip it and try others as there seems to be a ton of fro yo places in the FiDi area.
Is this a frozen yogurt place or a hip L.A. dance club? I had to suppress the urge to shake my booty as I ordered my small plain fro-yo with blueberries and almonds. The hard workin' SoGreen employees really didn't need to see that.
BTW, I'm so hopped up on this tart fro-yo craze that any place will get at least three stars. I'm like a junkie for probiotic yogurt. I suppose that's better than heroin.

Just seems ehh to me. I had a plain tart with mochi and pistachios. The consistency didn't seem to hold together very well and the flavor just seemed to miss the mark. Tart frozen yogurt shops are a dime a dozen now, just walk by this on to the next one.
Very disappointed. I'm addicted to the plain tart at Yogurt Harmony in Berkeley, and the "original" at this place doesn't even come close. The texture is off (as someone else mentioned, it's sort of like shaved ice), and there is an unpleasant aftertaste. Ambrosia on Trinity Place now offers a plain tart which is much better, so I'll be sticking with them whenever I need a FiDi FroYo Fix.
Green Tea.... 'nuff said.

We were herded in to the Crocker Galleria during the lunch break for orientation to law school. Some in my group just moved here so this was part of the "Neighborhood tour." Our mission was to find lunch, which I begrudgingly did but right as we were exiting the Galleria, I spotted people carrying white cups of swirled-ness. My heart beat increased and my pupils dilated a bit. A quick sweep of the perimeter revealed the So Green Yogurt. I had to return later.
The green tea tastes like the regular. Well, maybe like the regular with something funny about it. It confirmed my decision to order the regular. Small, with no toppings. I've recently found a market that sells the exact same mochi balls as used on yogurt and have contemplated bringing a small sack with me for when the yogurt impulse strikes.
Like Cyn said, the yogurt was rather icy and grainy. It began to melt really really quickly. The taste was not so tart as that in Berkeley. But not sweet either. Really, it was not much of anything. Refreshing, but that opinion is colored by the type of freak good weather San Francisco had that day.
It was inexpensive, the small regular flavor was around $2.95 after tax. The toppings would have been an extra $0.75 each (now does it make more sense to bring my own toppings, especially if the whole bag of mochi cost $3 for 300g?). They had things like captain crunch, fresh fruit, granola. Nothing made me go, "I MUST pay $0.75 for a teaspoon of it! Paying rent can wait!."
That about sums it up.
So Green FroYo is mediocre at best.
Prices are typical of yogurt places but the quality of the yogurt is bad. I like Pinkberry which is creamier and Red Mango which is more sour. The yogurt here has the same taste as the previously mentioned venues but very watery!
Y'all need to get a Cefiore or Red Mango up in here STAT. So Green = 2nd Tier FROYO.
Usually, when I'm craving a sweet treat, I head straight over to the nearest cupcake-ery and gorge myself on "my usual" frosted fat and calories in a paper lining. Mmmm...fat and calories.
Walking downtown, however, I saw a line in a new store that sold something I haven't had in a long time. Fro-Yo.
Yes, I said Fro-Yo. Remember the 80's? TCBY was like Starbucks, popping up on every street corner and in every mall. (If you are a fetus and do not remember the 80's, I don't want to know about it.)
Some two decades later, Fro-Yo has made a comeback...with a vengeance. They're EVERYWHERE, and they're revamped. "Gourmet" and "artisanal" come to mind when I see these new-fangled places. Also, add "expensive as all get out" to that list.
I resisted going in, but I couldn't help myself. My issues with milk usually made it easy to walk away, but watching the hoards of desperate FiDi women scraping together their money for a taste made me more than curious. So gastrointestinal issues be damned, I caved.
I paid $6.25 for a medium strawberry yogurt that comes with three toppings. Yikes.
But I must admit, it was really delicious. Mochi balls, mandarin oranges, lychee, and a huge helping of 192 calories and zero fat. I felt like I was eating a healthy snack for the first time in months.
Ok, it wasn't a carrot. But at least it wasn't my usual.

I decided it was only fair to write an updated review since SoGreen seemed to get the point and started to be more generous with their yogurt. They've stopped weighing the amount of yogurt they put in each serving and I now find that they actually give a very generous amount even for the small size yogurt. This fro-yo lover is satisfied! Though, I don't know if they've started giving more fruit toppings, since they gave so little the first time I was there that I've never ordered fruit toppings since. I stick with my Small Original Yogurt with Mochi and I am lovin it. Out of all the yogurts I've tried in the city, I have to say that SoGreen is my favorite because it's amazingly tart, just the way I like it.

This fro-yo craze is bringing me back to living in Iowa with the TCBY Treats sensation. Stop me-somebody!
I think each Fro-Yo place is trying to be trendier, posh, upscale and soon it shall all burst like a sonic boom when the novelty is over.
The place is decently dressed down, the music non-existent ('cause sometimes you don't need J-Pop in the background to enjoy dessert) and listings on the LCD screen a nice touch. I like how the owner? manager? explains the concept and recommends toppings for the fro-yo virgins like myself.
I had the usual toppings I put on everything-blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Sigh...so nice.
They have someone helping behind the counter working with a cast and while I couldn't help to imagine what it'd be like to work with just an index and middle finger, there he goes cutting bananas up and spooning toppings like a pro. Very impressed.
Fro-yo quality? Pretty good despite what the critics say. It DOES taste like tart frozen yogurt. I'm not touching smoothies yet even though they do offer it 'cause I like the spooning feeling-tee hee.
Something like $5.75 for a small with three flavors or you could get a medium for the same price. They get you to upgrade by having a set price for medium and large cups. I shall not fall for that and pay that premium to keep it small with loaded toppings.
It's a shame it's located in a mall that closes so early-hardly anything to look at that without envisioning your grandmother's closet or feel the need to pluck, tweeze, suck or laser something off as a lot of stores here offer those "services." Ick.
YUM! I've found this is the best froyo place in SF that I've tried so far. Most like Pinkberry. I've tried Yogurt bar, this other place on Market, this place in Japantown, and this other place in Berkeley.
I always get the original flavor. Never liked other flavors in general. Tart & refreshing. I love it! I can say I'm addicted now.
Once a week, I like to cart my ass over to Crocker G for the farmer's market. On one such occasion, I noticed a new yogurt place with a line out the day. Since it was lunch time, I got in line ordered me a cup of the plain with some fruit...
Dang, that was some good yogurt.
Some might call it expensive, but these are generally the same people who buy a $4 latte so it is really about choice. And as my mom would say, it is really only expensive if you can't afford it. That being said, I am guessing people who buy yogurt have no idea how much milk cost.

Eh. They were skimpy on toppings, yogurt was rather thin- it had some tang, but it muted out after awhile. The regular was grainy too. It was kind of like eating yogurt flavored shaved ice. Fresh toppings were great. But not as much as other places.
Be still my heart, the pining for pinkberry can officially end! Not only is SoGreen a wonderful fill in for the notable pinkberry treat but it is in some ways better. The portions are more generous, no weighing the fro-yo here, and the atmosphere is very clean, just like the flavors! There are not crazy options such as fruity pebbles and cap'n crunch but SoGreen offers a more streamlined, healthier, fresher approach to toppings with nuts, fruits and chocolate chips. The price is appropriate for the portions and it is a definite keeper in the list of favorites.

The yogurt here is a bit expensive, but it's worth it as a treat. They have freshly cut strawberries, kiwi, berries, etc. that you can add onto your yogurt. This stuff is the best, especially on a warm, sunny day.
